Sitora Farmonova was born on August 20, 1984, in Bukhara. Upon turning 13, she moved to Tashkent with her family.

Sitora graduated from the Tashkent State Institute of Arts.

Sitora Farmonova is an Uzbek film actress, singer, and comedian. She has played roles in a number of films by Uzbek, Kazakh, and Kyrgyz directors. She gained fame in the Uzbek film world for her roles in several Uzbek comedies, including "Xavfli burilish" (2004), "Mening akam boʻydoq!" (2011), and "Endi dadam boʻydoq?" (2013). Farmonova is also known for her role in director Veit Helmer's film "Baikonur" (2011).

Since 2015, Farmonova has been participating in the KVN festival as part of the Bishkek-based team "Asia MIX". In July 2016, the actress was criticized in one of the KVN games for "mocking her nation." Following this, "Uzbeknavo" suspended Farmonova's license.

Farmonova gained international fame for her role in Veit Helmer's 2011 film "Baikonur". She is the first Uzbek actress to play a role in a film directed by a German director. In the film, Farmonova played the role of Nazira. Nazira falls in love with the protagonist Iskandar, who loves radio communications and space and calls himself Gagarin.

Farmonova also played a role in the 2013 series "Obshaga" ("Dormitory"), filmed in Kyrgyzstan. The series was well-received by television viewers, and the actress gained fame in Kyrgyzstan.

Farmonova also sings. She became known in Uzbekistan for her duet "Bahor-kuz" with Uzbek singer Mirjamol. Fans and critics evaluated the song differently. The song "Eki zhurok/Ikki yurak," recorded with Kyrgyz singer Mirbek Atabekov, was included in the soundtrack of the series "Obshaga" ("Dormitory").

Since 2015, Farmonova has been participating in the KVN festival as part of the Bishkek-based team "Asia MIX". The team is composed of citizens from various countries—players from Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.
